Multi-platinum artists mgk and Wiz Khalifa are officially back together with their new collaborative single, “girl next door.”
The smooth summer-ready track blends dreamy melodies, upbeat production, and nostalgic vibes, arriving just in time as Wiz Khalifa prepares to join mgk on the second North American leg of the “lost americana” tour beginning May 15.
Produced by SlimXX, BazeXX, and No Love For The Middle Child, the song samples music from indie electronic duo Sweet Trip while mixing dream-pop sounds with dance-inspired drums and melodic rap flows.
“girl next door” marks the duo’s first collaboration since their fan-favorite 2013 track Mind of a Stoner, and fans are already celebrating the return of their chemistry.
The official music video, directed by mgk’s longtime collaborator Sam Cahill alongside actor and director Gianni Paolo, brings a playful and nostalgic feel to the release.
The single follows mgk’s recent rock-influenced track “FIX UR FACE” featuring Fred Durst, which earned him his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart.
Released last year, mgk’s album lost americana became his third consecutive No. 1 project on Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart. He also recently teamed up with the Jonas Brothers for a remix of his hit “cliché.”
Meanwhile, Wiz Khalifa has stayed active throughout 2026 following the release of his album Khaotic and his surprise project Girls Love Horses. He also recently wrapped up his “Macrodose Tour,” including a stop at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
The “lost americana” amphitheater tour will travel across North America with stops in Atlanta, Dallas, Toronto, Vancouver, and many more cities throughout the summer.
