Rising singer-songwriter Lila Drew has officially released her new single “Same Old Song” through Capitol Records, alongside a brand-new music video directed by Stefan Kohli.

The emotional track dives into heartbreak, regret, and vulnerability as Lila reflects on wanting to return to a relationship she knew may not have been right for her. Inspired by a difficult period following her first heartbreak, the singer describes the song as an honest and emotional look into the struggle of letting go.

“Same Old Song” blends confessional songwriting with alternative rock influences, combining emotional piano melodies with layered production and catchy hooks. The song was produced alongside Sachi DiSerafino, with mixing by Grammy-winning engineer Rob Kinelski and mastering by Dave Kutch.

Musically, the track pulls inspiration from artists and bands including The Velvet Underground, Peter Gabriel, Bonnie Raitt, and Third Eye Blind.

The single is the first release from a new collection of music Lila created over the past year and a half while recording between New York City and upstate New York.

Originally raised in Los Angeles and now based in New York, Lila Drew has been writing music since she was 11 years old. Her songwriting style combines deeply personal storytelling with poetic influences and detailed production choices.

With “Same Old Song,” Lila Drew continues establishing herself as one of the most promising rising voices in alternative and indie pop music.
