Global Afrobeats star Rema is officially set to perform during the opening ceremony for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Los Angeles on Friday, June 12, 2026.
The massive celebration will feature an all-star lineup including Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, and Tyla, with more artists expected to be announced later.

The opening ceremony at Los Angeles Stadium will officially launch the FIFA World Cup 2026 tournament across North America. Organizers describe the event as a large-scale global celebration combining football, music, entertainment, and culture.
For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, three opening ceremonies will take place across three countries — Mexico, Canada, and the United States — creating one connected continental celebration.
According to Gianni Infantino, the artist lineup was chosen to reflect the diversity and cultural influence of the United States and the global reach of music and sports.
The ceremony will begin 90 minutes before kickoff and feature large-scale visuals, live performances, storytelling, and immersive entertainment experiences produced in partnership with Balich Wonder Studio.
Fans attending the event are encouraged to arrive early, as stadium gates will open four hours before kickoff with pre-show activities and special fan experiences throughout the venue.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 tournament will include a record 104 matches across 16 host cities before concluding with the final at New York New Jersey Stadium on July 19, 2026.
With artists from multiple genres and countries joining the lineup, the opening ceremony is already shaping up to be one of the biggest entertainment moments of the year.
